Founder & Chief Clinical Officer of Grow Beyond Counseling

Hi, I’m Alicia Allen

Licensed Clinical Social Worker – Kentucky & Florida

I am a bilingual (English and Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving clients in Florida and Kentucky. My work focuses on trauma resolution, relationships, sex and sexuality, and helping individuals navigate life's most complex emotional challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and connection.

I hold two master’s degrees: a Master of Education from the University of Louisville and a Master of Social Work from the University of South Florida. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively in mental health and have pursued advanced training in trauma treatment, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), couples therapy, attachment-based interventions, sex and sexuality, and other evidence-based approaches to healing and personal growth.

My therapeutic style is grounded in curiosity, authenticity, respect, and emotional safety. I believe meaningful change occurs when people feel truly seen, understood, and empowered to explore the patterns that may be keeping them stuck. Whether working with trauma survivors, couples in distress, or high-performing professionals facing unique pressures, my goal is to create a space where lasting transformation can occur.

In addition to my clinical practice, I am an international speaker and educator who has presented on topics related to sex and sexuality at conferences around the world. My work has been featured multiple times on Fox 4 and Univision Southwest Florida, where I have provided expert commentary on mental health and relationship topics.

A central thread throughout my work is helping individuals and couples better understand themselves, challenge shame-based narratives, strengthen emotional connections, and build relationships that are both authentic and sustainable.

My Approach

I emphasize depth, clarity, and practical change—without shame, moralizing, or pathologizing.

My current focus includes relationship and couples therapy, sex and sexuality concerns, and trauma resolution. I frequently work with couples navigating sexual difficulties, recovery from compulsive sexual behaviors, and the rebuilding of trust, intimacy, and healthy connection.

My previous career as an in-house corporate coach and executive development consultant has provided a unique perspective to help high-level professionals from across many industries. I’ve worked with C-Suite executives, commercial/airline pilots, physicians, attorneys, and other regulated professionals seeking help in a discrete setting.
